About the opportunity
The Business Analyst engages as a proactive partner within the institution's end user community, namely in the areas of reporting, assessments, instructional technology, institutional research. We are focused on enabling our customers to have a great experience when using Jenzabar products. To that end, we embody a mindset of continuous improvement as we act as the single source of truth on ERP systems deployed, help to optimize day-to-day operational execution to improve customer service & delivery, guide business process innovation, and drive transformational initiatives.
Business Analysts are customer facing resources that provide expert advice on learning data as it relates to teaching and learning. We partner with the College to deliver high quality, innovative, and effective analytics to formulate relevant research questions, use data to inform decision making, and set goals and strategic direction. Internal, external, and trended data will be used to improve course development. The Business Analyst works collaboratively within the Ellucian Institutional Services team to develop materials that equip the College with the data and reporting they need to make data-driven decisions about the student learning experience.
Where you will make an impact
Work with College stakeholders to manage expectations and complete ERP projects.
Provide leadership, direction and oversight for the analysis, configuration, implementation and maintenance of the colleges enterprise level administrative systems, including but not limited to Jenzabar as numerous 3rd-party software solutions.
Plan and design the ERP capabilities in order to meet desired organizational objectives.
Provide leadership and coordination of remote programming and reporting resources.
Provide Jenzabar ERP Application Management and Support. The application and server support includes: the management of Jenzabar production and test environments, the accommodation of special requests by the Jenzabar functional owners to implement new functionality and to test patches, upgrades and releases in a timely manner. Resolve problems and to comply with continuously changing federal and state reporting or compliance requirements.
Provide support and management for Jenzabar ICS.
Analyzing and documenting functional and/or system requirements
Coordinate and manage this ERP support with appropriate depth of expertise to maintain a high level of support for Jenzabar services to the University.
Support for a number of ancillary applications.
What you will bring
Solid organizational skills, ability to work with staff, faculty, and administration at all skill and management levels.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years working for higher education institutions.
Strong Project Management skills
Varied and strong technical background that would include implementation of higher education administrative systems or business management systems.
Specific understanding of industry trends and standards required.
Strong end user orientation.
Strong work ethic,
Must be a team player and strong on collaboration.
Sound strategic thinking skills and ability to work with client senior management team in an effective manner.
Infomaker, Crystal Reports and SSRS experience a plus
Solid functional and technical knowledge of the Jenzabar EX ERP system
Solid functional and technical knowledge of MS SQL
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of data feeds, extracts, and Jenzabar reporting solutions.
Experience with leadership and coordination of assurance that data integrity and application security best practices are followed
