Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the JEM Leader will lead the plant's CI initiatives designed to eliminate waste and non-value added activities and improve performance in Safety, Quality, Product Delivery, Cost and Inventory. This position will provide guidance and act as a resource to the Plant Manager and CI teams on the selection and project management of Lean projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position leads the plant leadership team in developing the plant's overall CI plan in alignment with the Plant Manager and corporate CI improvement teams.

  • This leader ensures that the Plant Manager is aware of the corporate requirements and works in building an integrated plan that delivers both the needed results and the growth in capability (skills and culture) for sustaining CI.

  • This position will lead Lean projects for improvement results that can be leveraged across plants, functions, and product lines.

  • Ensures that CI training, tools, test practices and resources are available to employees at all levels and are being utilized appropriately and effectively.

  • Develops and executes a communication plan to support the rollout and education on continuous improvements to the plant.

  • Lead all reporting and root-cause analysis. Lead or coach focused improvement activities and teams to improve results like safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory. Conduct root-cause analysis and coaching to resolve production issues.

  • Coach and teach the daily plant management system on the floor and plant management levels. Work and coach on improving machine performance and work flow.

  • Study process flow charts and recommend modifications in work flow.

  • Analyze and improve work and measure performance.

  • Coach the process of developing and deploying effective standard work practices across the plant. Share and reapply proven methods from other locations as appropriate. Communicate such changes in CI's promptly to all to ensure consistency.

  • Facilitate and co-facilitate various CI related workshops and training events. Teach the concepts and coach the plant personnel to see and eliminate waste.

  • Works with the Plant Manager and plant leadership in analyzing key performance indicators to make the plant better measure, visualize, analyze, improve, report and implement CI's based upon key performance indicators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or equivalent education and experience as determined by management.

  • Hands on experience using modern Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPS, SQDCI, etc.).

  • Certified Lean Manager preferred.

  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience leading Lean Transformations in manufacturing operations, educating others on Lean principles and deployment planning.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement techniques, preferably in the door and window industry.

  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought processes to develop, recommend and implement strategies and programs that address plant and corporate objectives.

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy to include corporate offices.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with direct reports and influence on those with whom there is not a reporting relationship.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict effectively and problem solve.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and applicable JELD-WEN software applications.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Ability to travel on occasion for training purposes and/or to corporate offices.

This leadershipposition will be responsible for executing the Cardiac & Vascular Group(CVG) Clinical strategy at a small number of Strategic Clinical accounts(Centers for Research Innovation, or CRI). This person will driveexecution of each of the active trials across the Cardiac & Vascularportfolio at their sites and will be responsible for achieving both sitespecific and study specific objectives. This field-based role will serve as theprimary hub of communication relating to clinical research between Medtronicand the site. In addition, this person will develop therapyknowledge across the Cardiac & Vascular Group portfolio, including, but notlimited to, coronary stents, transcatheter and surgical valves, atrialfibrillation ablation techniques, aortic stent grafts, peripheral diseasetherapies, ventricular assist devices, and cardiac rhythm devices. In addition, this rolewill execute a strategy to further develop Clinical Pathways and Protocols andValue Based Healthcare (VBHC) Initiatives related to the CVGportfolio. This may include influencing VBHC based study design,evidence generation, pathways education, improving on care pathwayinefficiencies using Lean Sigma, and supporting publications and evidencedissemination. This position willreport to the CVG Field Clinical Manager and will require collaboration withthe Director of CVG Clinical, the Clinical Vice Presidents of each of the CVGBusiness Units, the Regional Vice President of Sales, and District SalesLeaders. A Day in the Life This position will have highvisibility within the organization as they will be required to interact witheach of the CVG Clinical Divisions, in order to effectively drive clinicalexecution and utilization of Clinical Pathways and VBHC initiatives at the CRIsites. Responsibilities may include thefollowing and other duties may be assigned. * Partner with CRI sites in achieving CRI objectives and clinical trial execution, with a focus on speed to execute clinical trials and the generation of high quality data * Provide feedback to Medtronic Clinical leadership regarding site nominations, key opinion leader recommendations, and physician or coordinator committees * Perform site qualification, initiation, enrollment acceleration, and data quality improvement activities as outlined by the study teams. * Develop strong relationship with CRI sites and have a deep understanding of CRI site goals, personnel, processes, and capabilities * Strategic account management by partnering with key site personnel to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of clinical trial execution * Provide support to Study Teams throughout Clinical Trial lifecycle, including driving site engagement, troubleshooting, and escalation * Serve as a key influencer for cross-SBU and CRI site engagement according to the agreed CVG CRI governance structure. * Provides field support for various clinical research studies by selecting sites, performing activation duties, setting up protocols, providing training, helping to enroll participants, ensuring quality data acquisition and performing study closure activities. * Responsible for gaining and maintaining knowledge of clinical sites in a given geographic area to best understand and assess investigators' interests and capabilities. * Provides continuous communication to in-house clinical trial leaders regarding the status and performance of multiple studies. Must Have: Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in clinical/clinical research (i.e., clinical account management, clinical trial management, clinical analytics, clinical field support, clinical quality outcomes management) or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical/clinical research as listed above.
