Current Need

Position Description

  • Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, & evaluating programs for internal functional areas such as business operations, finance, human resources, marketing or governance
  • Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares design documents, performs development coding, test plans & tests/debugs programs

  • Develops system or data conversion & system implementation plans

  • Prepares & obtains approval of system & programming documentation (e.g., business owners, project managers)

  • Recommends changes in development, maintenance, & system standards

  • Trains users in conversion & implementation of system & provides end user support

  • Conducts interviews and/or working sessions to define requirements and/or determine current state & future state processes

  • Researches & evaluates potential internal and/or external software solutions

Minimum Requirements
4 years' experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of procedures, utilities, program scripts, & excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of technical system design

  • Detailed knowledge of industry trends & technology; awareness of regulations & compliance requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of company technology processes, procedures (e.g., Open Source), & business systems support

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

This hands-on role will give you the opportunity to directly impact the scheduling capabilities over a broad range of projects in various stages of development. By analyzing and monitoring the project's critical path, you'll prepare reports, develop alternative solutions, and drive successful project completion. Responsibilities: * Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction. * Develop resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects. * Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources. * Assess the impact(s) of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates. * Apply vast knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting. * Provide guidance, direction and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports. Qualifications: * At least eight years' construction scheduling experience, including proven leadership experience directing scheduling functions * Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units * Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance) * Proficiency in various project controls software such as Excel, Primavera, and other company-specific software * Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or technical training and related experience About Kiewit As one of North America's largest, most respected construction and engineering organizations, with 2017 revenues of $8.7 billion, Kiewit exists to make a difference.
