Java Software Engineer

The Challenge:

As a full-stack developer, you can perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of Web application software components supporting an Enterprise user base. We're looking for a developer with an understanding of object-oriented design principles and programming fundamentals. You should possess excellent communication skills with ability to work with a diverse team of analysts and developers.

This role is more than just coding. We need a full-stack developer who will use their passion to learn new tools and techniques and identify and implement system improvements. Using AGILE life cycle development, you'll work with the development team to drive rapid, quality delivery of functionality to the client at the speed of their mission You'll analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you're developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You'll engage with multiple functional groups to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, and help to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation. You'll design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutions. You'll ensure quality delivery of software through thorough testing and reviews. You Have:

  • 1+ years of experience with working on professional software development teams
  • 1+ years of experience with object-oriented programming, including Java, C#, or C++
  • 1+ years of experience with Web development languages, including HTML and JavaScript
  • 1+ years of experience with version control, including Git or Subversion
  • 1+ years of experience with relational databases, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python

  • Experience with Apache Flex

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • BA or BS degree in CS or a related field

  • DoD 8570 Compliant IAT II Certification, including Security+ or CISSP

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Though each program has specific labor categories which must be met prior to placement, all candidates must minimally meet the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below. Basic Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
