As a Software Engineer within our Maxit Tax team at LSEG, you will work on building and maintaining performance-critical, scalable, and resilient software applications within the Wealth department.

Maxit is the industry's only end-to-end tax information reporting solution. It is a complex, distributed application; it provides unique exposure to challenging and complex scenarios that are inherent to a complex application.

Working as a member of the growing Maxit Tax software delivery team within the Technology Development, you will be working with some of the most insightful, dynamic, collaborative, and dedicated people around. You will become part of a team where people from different backgrounds come together to learn and push each other to do the best work possible on industry-changing projects. The successful candidate would fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:

Years Experience : 3+

  • Java software development language, tools and techniques.

  • Spring frameworks experience especially Spring Boot and Spring Batch.

  • Unix and Linux shell scripting and PL/SQL programming. SQLPlus

  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills.

  • Source code control tools and concepts (SVN, branches, etc.).

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot existing code and make modifications to remedy issues within an existing Java framework.

  • Meet tight deadlines and work on several projects simultaneously.

  • Able to work within a team environment as well as work independently on projects.

  • Ability to review business/functional requirements and provide detailed design specifications and estimates of work required.

  • Ability to translate project design into code, working within an existing Java framework.

  • A background in financial/brokerage industry is a plus.

  • Familiar with Oracle / SQL tuning.

  • Knowledge of Java Design patterns.

  • Build tools: ant / maven / jenkins, Unit testing

  • Testing tools: Junit, Mock Frameworks

  • Webservices REST

  • Java multi-threading concepts

  • Multi-processing concepts

  • Aysnchronous messaging: JMS/MQ

  • Unix and/or Linux-based application servers: Tomcat and Jetty.

Experience with following a benefit

  • Any ORM

  • JIRA

  • Database migration tools like Flyway

  • SAML/OAuth2

  • Nonrelational databases ie key-value, document store, distributed.

  • Any relational database. Oracle preferred. DB2 a plus.

  • A background in financial/brokerage industry is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.

  • At least 3+ years of experience in software engineering.

  • English language oral and written communication skills.
