SUMMARY

Arcticom, LLC a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Junior Java Developer for the Dayton OH area. The Java Developer will work as part of a product team delivering product support and supply chain solutions on a One Network platform instance.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design, develop, refactor, test and maintain new features and improve existing code base using Java/J2EE, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, Ext JS, JUnit, Java GUI Libraries (SWT, AWT) and Eclipse.

• Work with UI technologies.

• Implement J2EE concepts (RESTful Web services and MVC pattern) using ONE Platform SDK

• Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures using Oracle SQL.

• Debug Java and JavaScript code.

• Work with JIRA issues, update and manage requirement documents using Confluence.

• Work with integration frameworks including EDI, JSON, XML, REST, SOAP etc.

• Merge code between different branches and manage revisions using Git.

• Collaborate with developers, subject matter experts, and functional personnel throughout the development process, including reviews, planning, and documentation.

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Certificate of Training in Computer Science, or Software Development

• Hold or be able to acquire a Federal government background check, requires U.S. citizenship

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Experience in Java programming

• Experience in JavaScript programming

• Experience in Computer architecture

• Ability to communicate effectively with a product team

• Able to work with minimal supervision

Preferred

• Experience with Agile product management

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
