Overview

Enterprise Risk Technology (ERT) is the technology partner to the Risk divisions of Credit Risk, Market Risk and Non-Financial Risk. This includes definition of the IT strategy and provision of solutions to allow Risk to manage all aspects of risk from the analysis of counterparty credit risk to the protection of the Bank's infrastructure and information.

You will work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team, including analysts, developers and testers. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value. You will be someone who sees engineering as team activity, with a predisposition to open code, open discussion and creating a supportive, collaborative environment. You will be ready to contribute to all stages of software delivery, from initial analysis right through to production support.

You must be able to think critically, analyze workflows and data, draw conclusions, and suggest approaches to mitigate operational risk improve efficiency and recommend automated solutions.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Work as part of a delivery team, collaborating with others to understand requirements, analyze and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them and support them in production

  • Design and develop excellent, ergonomic and understandable user interfaces. Work closely with users to gain feedback and ensure they are fit for purpose

  • Model the future state of architecture and provide good practices and guidelines

  • Ability to think analytically, with systematic and logical approach to solving complex problems, and high attention to detail

  • Implement best practices around requirement gathering methodologies and requirement documentation procedures

  • Help your team can build, test and release software with the short lead times and a minimum of waste. Work to develop and maintain a highly automated Continuous Delivery pipeline

Skills:

  • Relevant experience of front end web programming experience with JavaScript, Typescript, CSS3, HTML5

  • In depth understanding of Angular

  • Production experience in applying web test frameworks

  • In-depth understanding of web workflow including HTTP/HTTPS, HTML5, XHTML, CSS,CSS2,SASS/Compass, AJAX, web session, cookies, cache, URL routing, error handling and web security

  • Extensive expertise in browser compatibility and W3C standards

  • An understanding of REST principles and associated technologies

  • Proven experience in profiling and fine-tuning performance of web application in production environment

  • Proven record in addressing web design issues

  • Working knowledge of Java programming and Spring framework

  • Experience managing diverse group of stakeholders, including business, operations and technology at different levels of the organization

  • Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP

  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (Requirement Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Documentation)Ability to commit and prioritize work duties and tasks

  • Proven communication skills / Fluent in English (written/verbal)

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science (or equivalent qualification/work experience)
