The Enterprise Data & Applications (EDA) area has a great new opening for an experienced Java developer to join our Agile scrum team that creates and supports many of our customer facing applications and APIs. What makes this opportunity so appealing? The EDA area is where we create and support technical solutions leveraged across the entire organization. We are at the intersection of many strategic initiatives which provides our team members great exposure across our IT community.

Ideal candidates for this role will have at least 4 years of Java development experience, enjoy the challenges of full stack development, can analyze and understand applications from front-end through back-end, enjoy collaborating with and mentoring others, and are driven to not only identify technical problems, but implement creative solutions!

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate's degree when defining equivalent work experience)

  • 3+ years of Java development experience

  • Relational database experience

Additional preferred technical experience:

  • Experience with IBM WebSphere

  • Experience with development, build, and deployment tooling (i.e. Maven, BitBucket, Bamboo)

  • Front end development skills (i.e. JSF, JavaScript, Spring, HTML)

  • Authentication Frameworks (we use Apigee, OAuth)

  • Web Service experience (i.e. REST, SOAP)

  • Development practices like CI/CD

  • Test automation knowledge (i.e. Ruby, Cucumber)

Core competencies for success:

  • Positive mentor for others

  • Desire to be a multi-skilled developer contributing to the development work across the entire stack (front end, back end, automation, etc.)

  • Strong analysis skills with the ability to identify root cause and propose solutions

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience with paired programming is a plus

  • Ability to provide rotational off hours support
