Position: Japanese Bilingual Ocean Export Operations Manager
Work Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid with 3 days/week in office

OVERVIEW:
A global leading freight forwarding and logistics company is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to fill the role of Ocean Export Operations Manager. As the Ocean Export Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our ocean export processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
Develop comprehensive work plans for each week's operations in advance.
Process and monitor truck pick-up, delivery, and transload schedules, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
Create and manage transload schedules to optimize efficiency.
Monitor ocean carrier activities, including vessel movements and port congestion. Select the most suitable vessel schedules for shipments and request cutoff extensions when necessary.
Supervise staff engaged in various tasks such as pre-checking empty containers, inspecting cargo integrity, and monitoring loading processes.
Handle offshore and third-party billing tasks, as well as accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities.
Process necessary data corrections to ensure accuracy.
Provide exceptional customer service to existing and potential clients. Develop new business opportunities and offer innovative solutions to address clients' logistical challenges.
Address customer complaints, investigate root causes of product issues, and ensure timely resolution.
Host customer visits as required to maintain strong client relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in English and Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing).
Previous experience in a managerial role is required.
Basic understanding of shipping operations is necessary. No prior operational experience is required; trainings will be provided.
The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
