This position physically carries out as well as helps direct the activities of those involved in providing a variety of cleaning services and other related duties required to keep facilities in a clean and orderly condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all duties required of a Janitor or other assigned employee.
Is accountable for meeting all of the obligations required of assigned employees.
Helps direct, guide and train new staff and provides ongoing training to existing staff.
Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, mops, sanitizes, or restocks hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation or break areas, kitchen areas or equipment, laundry rooms, living areas, work areas, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, public areas, or other similar areas.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extract, waxes, buff, vacuums, etc. all types of floors.
Dusts both low and high areas, and wipe down or cleans various surfaces.
Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks.
Removes and transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas.
May change light bulbs and perform light facility maintenance.
May keep building entryways free of snow and debris.
May operate a vehicle to work at various locations.
May periodically perform a variety of special duties such as certain types of laundry duties or periodically scheduled cleaning tasks.
Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
Maintain a clean and orderly cart and storage areas.
Report any material discrepancies beyond the scope of work to the Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
Wear proper uniform at all times.
Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the handbook.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
High school education or GED equivalent.
At least one (1) year of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning duties or supervision of employees.
The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
