Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.
As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.
With a strong focus on latest technology of the manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Summary of position:
The EH&S Coordinator will be responsible for health and safety programs, conduct trainings, inspections, job hazard analysis, and support daily operations by providing safety direction or guidance where needed. The EHS coordinator works closely with the EHS specialist to address compliance concerns, improvement actions, sustainability efforts, and to facilitate preventative and corrective actions.
Main responsibilities:
Supports and participates in the EHS programs, activities, and projects to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety of associates, and HDI corporate requirements.
Assist is the creation and coordination of regulatory reporting.
Acts as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Supports onboarding and EHS trainings.
Assist in the maintenance of operating and training records.
Support and develop initiatives to improve the ecological footprint of operations, which includes GHG reductions, water conservations, waste minimization, pollution prevention, etc.
Help identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Coordinates and completes the inspections, which include weekly Gemba walk inspections, waste inspections, environmental compliance inspections, and corporate compliance inspections according to Heroux-Devtek corporate requirements.
Investigates accidents, incidents, near misses, related to EHS events to determine root cause and provide recommendations for improvements and corrective actions.
Manages and updates the SDS files.
Builds and coordinates waste inventory and shipments for waste materials scheduled outbound to Transfer Storage Disposal Facilities.
Works on developing communication and culture at the facility by holding meetings, sending newsletters, and other activities related to EHS.
Actively participate in Global EHS monthly meetings and periodic meetings of HDI sites.
Ensure timely, effective, and collaborative communications on environmental, health, and safety issues with the HDI corporate EHS team.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in environmental, occupational or safety sciences, industrial, safety management, public health, HR, or related degree program.
2 or more years' experience in a similar field or position.
Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices
Capable leader and mentor.
SKILLS
Knowledge of governmental regulations and laws.
Strong communication and advisory skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Is well organized and capable of maintaining extensive records.
