Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.

As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary of position:

The Materials & Processes(M&P) Engineer is responsible to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service for the Héroux-Devtek Landing Gear Division.

Main responsibilities:

• Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.

• Technically support manufacturing operations related to M&P: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.

• Act as a delegated M&PE approved by customer for all manufactured designated parts: manufacturing plan and process technique approval, as applicable.

• Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils: meeting, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.

• High level of responsibility: Must be able to operate independently. Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent;

• Minimum of four (4) years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace;

• Expertise in landing gear materials and processes related, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes;

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;

• Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing
