Genetec is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager to support Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi region.

The position is home based, and the applicant would ideally travel 75% of the time.

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will manage sales and relationships with existing and new Genetec customers (Certified System Integrators), partners, consultant and end users in assigned territory. The main role is to increase revenues and insure coordination with Regional office in the U.S. and Head office in Montreal, Canada.


  • Develop the assigned sales territory for company products

  • Discover and track opportunities, follow up and distribute leads to partners

  • Visit Customers/partners/consultants at their premises

  • Manage forecasts and achieve quotas

  • Identify customer needs, respond to RFIs, RFQs, prepare quotes and write proposals

  • Coordinate and facilitate communication with Customer and MRs

  • Track and report competitive issues

  • Monitor and report satisfaction levels from customers, integrators, consultants

  • Coordinate customer, integrator, consultant training

  • Update and maintain data in CRM or other applications

  • Acquire, maintain and report adequate knowledge of product, market and competition

  • Stay abreast of the products, applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical services

  • Assist Marketing with local or national initiatives


  • Bachelor's Degree , preferably in Business, Marketing, Communication, Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years experience in Security Industry preferably with VMS, Access Control or PSIM system

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office

  • Must have a valid passport

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident


  • Experience in the security industry with ability to maintain contacts at different levels

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work in a complex sales environment

  • Excellent presentation skills and a strong closer

  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers, integrators, consultants

  • Proven sales achievement / track record

  • IP technology understanding and networking expertise, an asset

This person will direct channel sales development of their multi-state region by directly managing a team of sales professionals with specified account responsibility. In this role, the Regional Sales Manager will manage distributor and direct channel sales representative relationships by working closely with multiple departments in developing strategic plans that drive growth (both revenue and market share). This person will also be expected to promote the Pentair brand / products / image, propel sales programs & policies, and report results regularly to management. The position can be based out of any location in the Eastern USA region (e.g. Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Newark, NJ; Boston, MA; etc.). You will: * Lead a team of sales professionals by setting vision & strategy for the team – this person will serve as a role model through coaching and development of their direct reports. * Be responsible for achievement of sales quota in assigned region through personal account growth responsibility as well as overseeing the team's efforts. * Develop and execute annual revenue plans; this includes providing quarterly, semi-annual, and annual formal business reports. * Organize & coordinate regional sales by administering / communicating policies, procedures, and objectives through direct channel sales representatives and contracted representatives. * Review distributors, sales agents, and direct channel sales representative's sales performance on a regular basis (through quarterly, mid-year, and annual business reviews); this will involve identifying areas of improvement and making changes where needed. * Meet with sales organization(s), distributors, sales agents, and customers on a regular basis to develop & maintain a strong relationships built on mutually-beneficial strategies; this will involve presenting our products, product lines, and production capabilities. * Participate & represent in regional thought leadership events, including trade shows and industry events; this includes membership and active participation in boards such as CFESA, FSCI, SCAA, etc. * Liaise with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Product Development, and Applications Engineering staff (including joint sales calls and consistent communication from the field). * Manage contract negotiations with distributors, brokers, and end-users while working closely with the company's Legal and Finance departments. * Manage effective utilization of CRM tools, both to manage personal opportunities as well as team opportunities (including closing leads generated by our Marketing & Technical Service teams). * Travel up to 80%, including day trips and overnight trips. * Be asked to take on additional duties, as needed. You should: * Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree (e.g. B.A. or B.S.). * Have 5+ years of professional experience in Sales and/or Marketing with technical products. * Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal & written). We like, but don't require: * Proven experience in leading Outside Sales teams, direct or indirect. * Proven expertise in managing both account management and new business development simultaneously. * Demonstrated expertise with managing distribution partners and working with strategic accounts across a multi-state territory. * Experience with hiring and developing / coaching employees (e.g. developing staffing plans, talent gap analysis, executing Performance Improvement Plans [PIP], etc.). * Extensive experience working with commercial and/or food service clients; additional experience working with residential, light industrial, and/or OEM clients is a plus. * Experience working with Water Filtration and/or Water Purification products. * Relevant certification (CFSP, CWS, and/or WQA). * Proven history demonstrating the following characteristics: * Driven to win; * Builds a sense of shared purpose and vision; * Builds and sustains relationships; * Inspires trust and open communication; * Effectively negotiates when necessary; * Formal presentation skills; * Acts with integrity. * Advanced ability to use relevant software programs (e.g. MS Office, Salesforce CRM, etc.).
