We are currently looking for an IVVQ Solutions Director to join Thales in Irvine, California. The Solutions IVVQ Director will have primary responsibility and accountability for defining IVV strategies during the Orient Stage of the assigned bids and projects. He/she assures that the appropriate IVV strategies, means and practices are planned to guarantee the adherence to defined system requirements. The strategies will be included in the Design Validation Authorization for bids and projects. The Solution IVVQ Director is primarily responsible for the Orient/Initiation stage of the project life-cycle - Initiation (Responsible) - Definition of project scope, purpose, objectives, requirements, resources, deliverable, and timescales. The Solution IVVQ Director participates to all other phases of the project life-cycle including: Planning (Inform/Consult) - Detailed IVV Plan including resource plan, financial plan, quality plan, risk plan, and acceptance plan Execution (Inform/Consult) Monitoring and status of progress relative to IVV Plan Closure (Inform/Consult) - In service issues tracking and resolution. Post-Implementation Review, Lessons Learned, etc.
Defines the detailed IVV Plan for the Avant Project, including resource plan, financial plan, quality plan, risk plan and acceptance plan.
Closely works with all the concerned levels (solution or solution elements) to ensure consistency in the IVVQ plans
Defines end to end Solutions scenarios and ensures execution of the same
Provides technical leadership and assumes overall accountability for successful execution of the generic Avant IVV activities, including requirements analysis, test module generation, continuous integration/ test of new FBLs, generic FSAT
Communicates regularly with Solution Engineering Managers (SEMs), Project Design Authorities (PDAs) and other segment IVVQ leads
Provides regular status to management on the IVV team progress relative to plan.
Defines and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress and results of improvement initiatives in the IVV domain.
Provides regular updates to budget tracking with accurate Estimate to Complete (ETC).
Participates to recurring meetings called by management to represent IVV team.
Provides feedback to functional management on performance of staff members working on Avant Project.
As appropriate, provides feedback to other IVV management on performance of matrixed IVV staff members working on specific projects
Represents Solution IVV in Final System Acceptance Tests (FSATs)
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in field with 8 to 12+ years' experience or Master's degree in field with 6+ years' experience
Experience in an engineering integration, verification or validation team
Extensive knowledge of systems development lifecycles
Familiar with IVVQ principles, including functional testing, performance testing, stress testing, endurance testing, recovery testing, ad hoc testing, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background
Additional key competencies include decision-making, planning and organizing, problem analysis and problem solving, coaching, teamwork and adaptability
Use of common defect management and tools (i.e. JIRA, ClearQuest)
Use of common requirements management and tools (i.e. JAMA, DOORS)
Experience with MS products such as Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in the aerospace industry; avionics experience preferred
Software and/or Hardware development design experience
Experience in Test Automation
Experience with Agile and common tools (i.e. JIRA, VersionOne)
