IV Technician

Clarest Health (ProCare LTC) Pharmacy is seeking a Full Time IV Technician to join our team and make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care facilities.

Schedule: Monday

• Friday 11:00 am

• 7:30 pm

Salary range: $20-$25/hour

In this position you will coordinate with the assistance of the pharmacist in the preparation of sterile admixtures. You also must be able to make/compound IV.

Essential Functions:

• Perform sanitation and maintenance of the cleanroom area and infusion equipment according to 797 UDP Standards

• Compounds sterile admixtures and non-admixtures, including but not limited to parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, hydration, using aseptic technique

• Prepares labels, prescription, compounding/mixing worksheets and completes and maintains product lot numbers and expiration dates. Generates delivery/pick slips under the supervision of the pharmacist. Picks and prepares supplies

• Takes inventory, places orders, check in medications and supplies, stocks IV shelves and removes out-of-date items from inventory

• Records and maintains refrigerator temperature logs

• Uses good documentation practices

• Assists Pharmacists and calls facilities for IV order questions

• Responsible for cleaning and maintain IV pumps and the IV pump information

Required Skills (Education/Certification/ Licenses/Years of Experience):

• Pharmacy technician experience

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification Preferred
