Hours: This position will work primarily day and evening shifts and will be in a rotation for weekends and holidays. Day shifts are between 6:00 am thru 4:30 pm. Evening shifts are between 11:30am thru 9:30pm.
Description: As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician at Central Maine Medical Center your responsibilities include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; opportunities to advance to patient billing, purchasing, and analyst roles.
About the Facility: The Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery organization serving central and western Maine. CMH's acute care facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital. Other CMH affiliates provide various outpatient and clinical services and maintain residential care facilities. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
Main tasks include:
Organizing the storage and safe environment for drugs and medications
Rotating stock, removing expired medications and performing other inventory control duties
Receiving and stocking supplies and confirm quantities against invoices
Delivering medications to the nursing units or patient rooms
Inspection of medication storage areas around the facility
Purchasing medicines from wholesalers and pharmaceutical companies
HS Diploma or GED Required
Licensed or have the ability to get licensed with the ME Board of Pharmacy
Pharmacy technician experience a plus but willing to train someone with applicable experience
Attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skill
