This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.

NATURE OF WORK

Under general supervision of the ITS Storage Manager, the ITS Storage Analyst will perform technical work of considerable difficulty in the design, plan, installation, testing, auditing and monitoring and remediation of enterprise storage solutions (both on premise and cloud hosted environments). This position has countywide responsibility.

(Illustrative Only) Assists the Storage Manager in the design, planning, implementation, managing and provides support on all aspects of the enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) environment to meet Yuma County's strategic goals; prepares and maintains full, detailed documentation of all aspects of the Yuma County storage environment (on premise and cloud environments); prepares specifications and plans for implementation of new or enhanced storage environments; coordinates with vendors and assists in the selection and evaluation of alternative systems and/or solutions; provides support to other members of the ITS department as needed in support of new or existing systems and projects; implements and configures systems in compliance with storage security policies and procedures as defined by the Yuma County Storage Manager, industry standards and best practices; works with the client organization and vendors to optimize existing storage environments; coordinates the installation and testing of storage hardware/software with vendors and/or internal staff; assists with the development and evaluation of Request for Proposals (RFP); assists internal and external departments in developing plans and strategies; serves in an on-call capacity in case of storage failure; regular and reliable attendance required; performs other duties as assigned.

Sixty (60) semester hours of post high school coursework from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field; AND Three (3) years progressively responsible experience in an enterprise information technology enterprise storage management and implementation; experience with computer networks and configurations, design, implementation and administration of Storage Area Network environment, and local and wide-area networks, voice/data communications systems and protocols; CNA/CNE and Network+/Security+ preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. Requires successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or closely related field is highly desirable; Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Storage Networking Certification Program or equivalent storage industry recognized certification is preferred.

Hourly rate for this position has been revised effective 3/4/24.

Knowledge of: County policies and procedures; PC architecture/internals and O/S, specifically with 2003, 2008, 2012, XP, Win7, Win8, Win10 and client/ server systems; installing and implementing of network hardware and software; data communications principles and communications equipment; web Server environments and proper implementation standards in a network environment; Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and other Internet programming languages; Storage Area Networks (SAN) and related technologies and equipment; voice/data communications systems and protocols, including: ISDN, Frame-Relay, X.25, TCP/IP, FTP; communications hardware including DSU/CSU, Bridges and routers, and network cabling requirements; file servers, and PCs; multiple versions of Windows and Windows Network Operating Systems.

Skill in: Applying inventory and resources allocation techniques; applying research methods, procedures, and available resources; assigning and leading the work of others in a project setting; responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; managing one's own time;  Back-up and Recovery Methodology; Storage Pool Manipulation.

Ability to: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; follow written and verbal instructions; lift/carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds; sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 6 hours per day; bend and/or stoop.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing.

 Working at a computer monitor for extended periods required. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
