ITS Business Intelligence Analyst

ITS Business Intelligence Analyst sought by Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties: Work within LMU's Information Technology Services department to develop software applications that gather, evaluate, and analyze data on LMU's business processes and translate them into evidence-based technical specifications to support LMU's business objectives.

Use data profiling and data quality tools, including TALEND, and entity-relationship (ER) modeling tools, to create conceptual and logical data models by identifying the data sources necessary for the data mapping specifications of the models. Develop software to compile complex structured query language (SQL) queries, design interactive user interfaces (UI), application programming interfaces (APIs), and ad hoc reports. Utilize advanced knowledge of programming and systems design to confer with systems analysts and programmers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Conduct data audits and provide technical solutions to mitigate risks.

Requirements: Master's degree, or equivalent, in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field or related field plus two (2) years of Software engineering, data analysis or related experience: utilizing data profiling and data quality tools (i.e., TALEND, Tableau Prep) to analyze business intelligence data for quality and accuracy; implementing ETL data pipelines to prepare and structure data; utilizing change management and project management software, including SCRUM and Agile Methodologies, to create requirements, high-level designs, test plans, and test cases; leveraging Customer Relationship Management ("CRM") technology (i.e., ServiceNow) to develop custom applications tailored to enhance user experience; developing and optimizing relational databases utilizing Oracle Enterprise Edition, Oracle Client, SQL*Plus, and AWS RDS; and utilizing the following software programming tools and languages:

SQL, Python, SAS, R, SPSS, Git Bash, cURL, and API. Telecommuting permissible.
