About DTMB:

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. 

About this position:

As a Senior Application Developer, the employee performs a complete range of information system analyst assignments including, but not limited to, designing, developing, testing, and implementing computer systems and applications for the Michigan Department of Transportation.  This individual will be looked upon to provide technical support to other team members and evaluate new development tools and agency systems.

The position is responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of internet and intranet applications using development technologies such as Java, JSP, Spring Boot, Hibernate, HTML5, CSS, jQuery. It also provides development, maintenance, and administrative support to existing applications. Functions include analysis of business needs; design; development; testing and implementation of web or intranet applications using standard agency and state application development tools.

Signing Bonus:

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Position Location:

This position is located in Lansing, MI. This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week.

 Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Education

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11/12

Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11 - 12

Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.
