The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support.   This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB Agency Services supporting the Michigan Department of Education.

This position will serve as the first line manager, responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating activities of the unit to ensure that the objectives and goals of the Michigan Department of Education are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, time limitations and budgets.  The offices within the Education Unit support these business processes:

Office of Financial Management

Health and Nutrition Services

State Aid and School Finance

Library of Michigan

Special Education

Information Technology Manager - Position Description

SIGNING BONUS:

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $3,500. Up to $1,750 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Classifications for the $3,500 bonus are:

Information Technology Manager

Information Technology Supervisor

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree with not less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience

Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator 12.Three years of experience as a computer programming supervisor or Information Technology
