  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; Master's Degree preferred

  • Valid Texas teacher's certification in core subject area; certification in Special Education

  • Five years of successful teaching in an urban school setting

  • Skilled in working successfully with other professionals and evaluation staff

  • Ability to work effectively with community organizations, schools, residential facilities, governmental agencies, parents, students, and others in a pluralistic setting

  • Demonstrated knowledge of proficient Microsoft office (word, excel, & powerpoint)

  • Ability to communicate in oral and in written form


  • Provide instruction and implement of IEP for Special Education students who are receiving services on a traditional school campus without a Special Education teacher allocation

  • Serve as case manager and provide instruction for students

  • Conduct ARD meetings and maintain compliance of all ARD paperwork

  • Maintain good communication with parents, related services and/or campus personnel regarding the educational needs of students as they relate to the instructional setting

  • Complete and maintain accurate records for enrollment, attendance, and grading

  • Develop instructional curriculum course outlines and lesson plans based on the TEKS alignment

  • Assists in the management of complex cases in cooperation with administrative staff

  • Establish and maintain efficient management procedures and standards of pupil behavior

  • Establish a system of student evaluation within the guidelines prescribed in state law or adopted by the school district; continually evaluate and record various aspects of students' progress and report to parents as needed and required

  • Provide a variety of planned learning experiences using a variety of media and methods in order to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction

  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned

Salary Minimum: $52,703

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer Human Capital Management.
