Itinerant Autistic Support Teacher
Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of Itinerant Autistic Support Teacher. This is a full-time contracted position beginning at the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
The Itinerant Autistic Support (IAS teacher) will support students on the spectrum by giving direct instruction to students and support to staff members who work with students. This position works closely with administration and teachers to ensure effective instruction in all classrooms for students with autism. The IAS teacher drives a culture of instructional excellence through teacher support and training. The IAS teacher will also ensure that the behavioral and social needs of the students, as well as the academic needs, are being appropriately addressed.
Education: Bachelor's degree Masters preferred
Certification: Pennsylvania Certification in Special Education in accordance to PDE regulations
Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances with results that have been obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment.
