The IT Trial Specialist role is designed to facilitate optimal business continuance and productivity with the technology components of trials at the firm. Trial Support members are expected to coordinate with various internal and external clients and other resources, setup and configure various technology end points, ensure the functionality of their teams and the systems used by their teams, and be available for any and all technical needs that may arise during the duration of trials assigned to these individuals. Case Teams at the firm rely heavily on Trial Specialist and the Trial Support team overall to be their primary point of contact for all things technical as well as their liaison with the broader IT team overall when managing challenges and issues.

What You Will Do:

  • Apply a rigorous project management and information management discipline to managing each case.

  • Coordinate with case team lead (often paralegals and sometimes jr. attorneys) on logistics and logistical needs and challenges while onsite at War Room locations, in Court, and at other offsite facilitates.

  • Engage key members of the case teams in requirements gathering associated to the trial needs and execute on those requirements within budget.

  • Coordinate with various hardware, software, and services vendors regarding the associated needs and requirements defined and captured by the case team leads.

  • Deliver within budget often accommodating cost conscious clients while still delivering optimal solutions to facilitate the desired outcome.

  • Coordinate with facilities managers at War Room sites on furniture configuration, security access, installation and configuration of circuits, power requirements for specific mass hardware, and other nuanced requirements.

  • 360 communication requirement with the case team leads, vendors, partners and attorneys on the case often times, and various members within IT throughout the duration of a given trial to ensure the optimal outcome of the trial.

  • Constant review of technology options and advances within the market that can apply to an offsite trial situation where value can be added.

  • Coordinate with internal IT acting as the liaison to ensure that systems patching, application and security deployments, and other internal IT activities do not adversely impact trials and trial teams.

  • Work with internal IT teams to continuously devise and deploy new technology solutions that enhance the trial experience.

  • Facilitate the maintenance of various different types of equipment that is deployed for daily use while at trial in addition to equipment that is brought for backup.

  • Interact with and coordinate with opposing counsel where required by the trial needs outlined by the case team lead.

  • Coordinate with opposing counsel IT Technology specialists to ensure that our internal case teams have access to all that is required of them while offsite.

  • Coordinate with some of the firms major clients face-to-face ensuring that their technology needs and otherwise are met.

  • Responsible for proper shipping of all IT technology equipment to and from the sites.

  • Responsible for proper configuration of multiple pieces of equipment including but not limited to servers, routers, remote access points, PC's, print servers, MFD's, printers, phones, polycoms, and wireless extenders which effectively enable the creation of an offsite office within days.

  • Provide direct hands on support to users who are experiencing desktop operating system, connectivity and applications issues and provide complete follow-through to successful resolution.

  • Perform hardware diagnostics and execute or coordinate repairs in a timely fashion to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all information on the specifics regarding network configuration and all technical components are managed and available within the Incident Management system and the Document Management System accordingly.

  • Responsible for participating in periodic round tables with paralegals at the firm explaining technology advances, obtaining feedback, or allowing for general Q&A as needed.

  • Provide training and coaching to supplemental resources who may be brought into a trial for assistance.

  • Assist Desktop Support Team with daily tickets and tasks as workload allows.

  • Set-up and maintain computers in contract attorney document review areas and mange technology deliverables associated to contract attorney onboarding process generally firm wide.

  • Responsible for physical control and tracking of IT hardware assets that transition offsite

  • Responsible for coordinating desktop security incident response in trial situations (offsite)

  • Responsible for desktop software compliance

  • Adheres to firms Information Security Policies, software Installation, and other firm policies

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) or minimum of 5 years of related experience.

  • Proven experience providing executive level support in some capacity.

  • Prior experience in a professional services organization is a must.

  • Ability to handle and diffuse challenging situations while addressing the technical issues associated to the frustration.

  • A+ certification or equivalent technical experience.

  • The ability to work closely with senior firm management, vendors, and integrators in the delivery of technology-based business solutions in a securely structured environment is required.

  • Excellent analytical, project management and communication skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills are required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with members from all levels of the organization.

  • Effective people management skills. Must be able to work effectively with IT management team, especially those with direct line responsibility for support and training.

  • Strong vendor coordination and management skills.

  • Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of computers, networks, system support and implementation.

  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated track record of managing information technology trial projects offsite on time and within budget.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications and other common legal specific applications.

  • 40% travel requirement of the role at various locations.
