General Description:
This position is for a member of the Woodbridge campus IT staff who will provide support to faculty, staff, and students. They will be responsible for assisting with computer problems, AV issues, login credentials, and WI-FI login credentials at the Woodbridge Campus, Quantico Marine Base, and Ft. Belvoir Army Base locations.
Duties and Tasks:
Ensure equipment is properly tagged, equipment transfers are documented, and surplus is properly collected and documented.
Hardware and software installations and upgrades are performed as needed.
To support faculty, students and staff at the Woodbridge Campus and off campus locations.
Position will be required to assist faculty, staff, and students with any computer/laptop problems, classroom AV issues and login credentials.
Position will support faculty, staff, and students with laptop/cell phone wireless setup and login credentials..
Flexibility and willingness to take on new projects, strong verbal skills and ability to communicate with faculty, students and staff, and assist IT staff with all desktop support tickets and help calls.
Support Windows/Apple operating systems and software applications.
Assist the campus with inventory tracking.
Knowledge of 'My Nova', NVCC and NVSTU domains so proper login credentials can be used.
Perform and complete technical tasks with minimal supervision.
Potential exists for day, evening, night and weekend work.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required KSAs:
Proven ability to provide technical support to desktop computers, peripherals, and the last technology installed in classrooms.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems with desktops and laptops.
Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively(verbally and in writing) with technical and non-technical personnel.
Proven ability to plan and complete technical tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift 50 pounds .
Working knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OSX ,Microsoft Office and computer hardware and printers.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience in Microsoft Office
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting problems with PC and/or Apple computers to include computer hardware and software
Customer service experience
Hold a valid Driver's License
Additional Considerations
Experience deploying images in a systems environment (ECM/SCCM).
Microsoft Certified
Experience working with Apple computers.
Experience working with a diverse population in a higher education environment
Experience identifying and resolving problems that occur in a classroom setting
