What You Will Do:

The IT Technician is responsible for providing enterprise-level assistance to Valley Health customers in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, to include resolving issues relating to connectivity, operating systems, and all peripheral devices, i.e. phones, printers, scanners, etc. Support may be provided in person, by phone, by email, or by remote desktop access. Pro-actively involved with the maintaining and upgrading of hardware and software to ensure optimal workstation performance. Engaging customers with targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem. Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams. Able to prioritize and manage open issues taking ownership and seeing through to resolution, in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA). Ensures all issues/resolutions are properly logged in the ticket management system. Provides prompt and accurate feedback to the customer and ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting. Maintains a clean and organized work environment.

What You Will Bring:

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Post-Secondary Technical Training required

Experience

2-5 years multi-platform, multi-application environment experience with several hundred network nodes preferred

Certification & Licensures

Microsoft, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Comparable Technical Certification required or obtained within six months of hire/transfer

Dell Certification (desktop/laptops) required or obtained within six months of hire/transfer

Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field may be accepted in lieu of CompTIA A+ at the approval of the department Senior Director.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple Operating Systems and software integration within these operating systems required

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Symantec products required

Ability to research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve assigned incidents in an efficient and timely manner to meet the needs of the end user

Ability to work under pressure

Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance

Customer service oriented and excellent communications skills

Ability to communicate with users regardless of their computer skills

Properly documents incidents/resolutions within the ticket management system

Ability to manage projects required
