This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $31.25 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is Remote.

This is a remote position that will be responsible for developing and organizing training materials for the Medical Examiner Information System Replacement (MEIS-R) program.  The position will collaborate with subject-matter experts (such as medical examiners, pathologists, and software developers) to understand the functionality and intricacies of the information system.

Produce high-quality documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, and system specifications. Translate complex technical details into clear, user-friendly content. Ensure that all documentation adheres to regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA guidelines for medical software). Associate software documentation with design control and validation requirements.

Write easy-to-understand user interface text for the medical examiner information system. Create online help resources and developer guides. Review and edit content for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.

Maintain an eye for detail, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Candidates should have strong networking and organizational skills and experience working across private and public organizations. This position is a senior level position and requires the candidate to work with limited supervision and direction.

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration, particularly as they relate to program development.  Considerable knowledge of economic, social, and technological needs in various areas of the state as it relates to the program area of assignment.  Skill in program development, analysis and evaluation.

Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct a statewide development program. Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Ability to coordinate the work of a professional and technical staff.  Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and to speak effectively before large groups.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a technology related field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in technical writing or working in a technology role; or

Associate degree in technology, business writing, or related fields from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in technical writing or working in a technology role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
