The IT Team Lead will be responsible for day to day technical administration duties, as well as providing technical support and oversight to members of the IT support group. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute on cross-functional teams and deliver solutions to our customers. This Senior position will be responsible for the oversight of a small IT department, to include organizing team tasking, project management and research. The IT Team Lead role is technical in nature, with some leadership responsibility. This role will be responsible to interface with other departments such as Information Assurance, Property, and Facility Security to maintain integrity of established security policies, practices, and procedures. The IT Team Lead will support IT Staff in the deployment, maintenance, and support of multiple non-uniform networks under different administrations including development and production networks, while maintaining mandated baseline compliance on these distinct networks.

Required Skills

  • Strong Linux administration skills including but not limited to, file system and disk management utility, user management, shell, file permissions, general troubleshooting, and package manager competence.
  • Proficient in service configuration (e.g. DNS, DHCPD, SSH, NFS)
  • Proficient in virtualization technologies (e.g. oVirt, RHEV)
  • Proficient in shell scripting (e.g. Python, Bash)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, interconnected systems with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with CentOS / RHEL and Ubuntu
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with users and team members.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (e.g. TCP/IP / OSI model)
  • Hands on experience provisioning network equipment
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Ability to set up and configure server and end user hardware
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Working familiarity with Microsoft products
  • Ability to triage a large number of tasks with limited resources
  • Experience with NIST SP 800-171 and/or NIST SP 800-53 is desired but not required
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one

Candidates selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (Security Clearance). US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

A security clearance is a determination by the United States Government that a person or company is eligible for access to classified information. The term eligibility for access means the same thing as security clearance and is used in Government record systems and by Government personnel security specialists.
