Overview
This position is an integral member of the Global Shared Services Local Applications and e-PMO Team and is primarily responsible for supporting a variety of manufacturing and business applications as well as reporting and Business Intelligence initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical aptitude, enthusiasm and communication skills to function as both business analyst and technologist. Key aspects of the role include:
Leveraging strong functional, operational knowledge of the related business processes involved in local applications to support end-user use of the system, and perform diagnoses of system issues.
Supporting major projects, working with corresponding cross functional business departments and with management to understand functional and business roadmap deployment schedules.
Working closely with various business partners including Global Process Owners, Business Process Engineers and IT peers to help define and test solutions in support of prioritized business initiatives.
Responsibilities
Manage and contribute to delivery and quality of local applications. This includes requirements, technical design/build/test/optimize activities.
Perform ETL and data warehouse design/build/test/optimize activities.
Candidate will have practical experience through full development cycle of enterprise data warehouse construction, support and optimization.
Understand new business strategies, and provide recommendations for automated solutions to support new strategies and implement proposed solutions with available resources and timelines.
Experience in preparing data and constructing advanced data visualization dashboard style reporting in Business Objects, Tableau, or Looker. Must have strong ETL (Business Objects Data Services) skills.
Work closely with business process engineers to understand problems and requirements with the system and recommend and develop specifications to resolve them.
Follow integration testing procedures, change control procedures and use standard procedures and practices in performing the required work.
Must be flexible to change, able to multi-task and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
Participate in on-call rotating requirement shared with team.
Provide incident ticket and on call support resolution for related requests
Continuously enhance skills and knowledge through research, training, and other methods
Work in conjunction with users, business analysts and external resources to define system objectives and requirements, and execute according to plan; produce and maintain detailed specifications for applications, including architecture, designs and interfaces between corporate systems as required.
Perform maintenance and enhancements for existing systems applications, correct problems and revise systems as business requirements dictate, including analysis, design and development for requested changes and improvements.
Assist in the translation of business requirements and project scope into solutions in collaboration with both internal and external team members and business stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with business partners to help identify opportunities to streamline or automate their operations.
Manage multiple priorities to maintain a balance between day to day operations, projects and strategic development and to ensure deadlines are met.
Ability to perform first-level debugging of systems to analyse and resolve issues.
Troubleshoot and triage problem reports, resolve, and escalate as required.
Help ensure data remains complete, accurate and valid during its input, update and storage.
Support and align with global IT vision, ensure that IT activities support global vision.
Participate in global meetings to review application performance and project status
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field preferred.
Experience collaborating with internal IT teams to define and design application solutions that meet the customer needs and IT best practices
Experience with MS SQL, C#, C/C++, .NET or JavaScript
Experience using back-end and front-ed languages to develop complete solutions
Strong analytical and design experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Big Table, Data Flow or Google Cloud Storage a plus
Analytical problem solver, sense of urgency, proactive to issues
Readiness for further education in new languages and technologies
Ability to work in a demanding position, balancing diverse priorities
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, team and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to work in an independent self-directed manner while engaging fully as part of a global team of professionals
Experience in working within international teams an added advantage.
Excellent communication, problem solving, and customer service skills are essential.
The ability to express complex concepts effectively to the business, yet technical enough to have a detailed review of designs and approaches with technical resources
The ability to work well with people from many different disciplines and cultures with varying degrees of IT experience.
