Mandatory Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer systems analysis, computer science, computer information systems (CIS), management information systems (MIS), business intelligence or a similar field of study.
5 years experience working as an IT System Analyst.
5 years experience analyzing and assisting with business requirements and developing IT system requirements.
5 years experience assisting in the design of computer applications and enhancements to existing applications.
5 years experience creating systems models, diagrams and charts to provide direction to system developers & engineers.
5 years experience working with software developers to implement changes
5 years experience testing IT development changes.
2 years experience troubleshooting and resolving post-implementation problems.

The next filing cut-offs are at 5:00 pm on: * 9/27/18, 1/23/19, 7/24/19 Under general supervision, the Senior Water Quality Control Systems Technician is the lead worker class in this series and maintains and repairs pneumatic, chemical, electrical and electronic components, analog and digital networks and systems analysis equipment, computer control equipment including computers and computer peripherals and telemetry equipment used in process instrumentation and control systems. Explore your career with purpose Examples of Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of * Electrical and electronic theory and practice as applied to process instrumentation and control equipment * Analog and digital system fault diagnostic techniques and procedures * Principles of chemistry and physics * The architecture, maintenance and operation of digital computer systems * The operation of telemetry systems * Materials, methods and equipment used in the inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of process instrumentation and control equipment * The principles of preventative maintenance * The principles of proper maintenance documentation * Safety practices necessary for the work Ability to * Direct the work of subordinate technicians * Read and interpret plans, schematics, process control flow diagrams, system/network drawing detail drawings and wiring diagrams * Perform complex maintenance tasks involving analog and computer equipment * Perform some original circuit design work as required to implement minor effective course of action * Prepare maintenance service reports * Prepare newly and/or modified equipment operating and maintenance procedures * Read, write and speak English language at a level required for successful job performance * Respond to emergency calls * Work day, swing, or graveyard shift. Desirable Knowledge * Principles of chemistry and physics * Principles of preventative maintenance * Principles of proper maintenance documentation Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Any combination equivalent to experience and education or training that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities for this class would be: Either: One year of full-time experience in the class of Water Quality Control Systems Technician in Sacramento County service. Or: 1. An AA or AS technology degree dealing with instrumentation, computers, or electronics, or 30 college level semester units in instrumentation, computers or electronics. AND 2. Three years of full-time journey level experience in the maintenance of process instrumentation and control equipment, at least two years of which shall have dealt with the maintenance of computer equipment. Educational Substitution: Additional qualifying education in instrumentation, computers, or electronics may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the general experience on the basis that three (3) semester units equal one (1) month of experience. Note: The word "experience" referenced in the minimum qualifications means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements. Note: If the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application.
