Job Description:

The Systems Administrator will manage the Wabash National servers and storage in a heavily virtualized environment. Day-to-day activities would include backup monitoring, system health monitoring, server builds and maintenance, research and deploy new technologies, storage provisioning and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reduces complexity and increases availability of server and storage infrastructure with a focus on reducing cost burdens on business

  • Assists with management of Microsoft Active Directory including user accounts, passwords, folder and file level permissions and group policies

  • Assists with management of Microsoft server technologies including DHCP, DNS, DFS, file services and print services

  • Assists with provisioning and managing storage resources including SAN, Hyper-Converged and cloud based technologies

  • Assists IT Compliance Coordinator with system audits

  • Recommends appropriate technologies to meet the needs of our customers and business units

  • Coordinates application of OS patches and upgrades with the IT Security Engineer

  • Participates in the IT change management and asset management process

  • Upgrades administrative tools and utilities and configures new services as necessary

  • Maintains documentation of inventory for servers, hardware and software

  • Installs, configures and manages VDI and RDS environments

  • Assists Server and Storage Team Manager with development and maintenance of policies and procedures

  • Participates in the design, implementation and testing of disaster recovery plans for business continuity of IT services

  • Provides end-user support via telephone, email and face-to-face

  • Documents incident status updates and resolutions into the appropriate ticketing systems

  • Performs after hours system support during scheduled and unscheduled outages and standard monthly patching requirements

  • Supports and configures as requested other applications and systems

Education Requirements:

  • College Degree Major Desired: Computer Science, Information Management or related field

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

  • Full demonstrated skills and understanding of Cisco, Dell, Microsoft, SAP, VMware

  • Understands scripting and automation

  • Demonstrates ability to manage Citrix and RDS Environments

  • Strong desire to improve existing solutions

  • Innovate and improve the current way IT and solutions architecture in performed

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, customers and vendors

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT related field

  • Minimum 3 years of virtualization management experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Microsoft Exchange management experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Microsoft Server management experience
