 Monday- Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST | HYBRID

Additionally, this position will be functioning in a hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling. There is a requirement to report to work on-site a minimum of 2-3 days per week.

What you will be doing:

As the IT Systems Admin, you will be part of a high-performing team providing technical support for agency staff, other state agencies, enterprise application customers, vendors, and public sector customers in the area of hardware, software, agency and enterprise applications, network components and all other customer technical and system issues. You will identify, plan, triage, and coordinate issues by setting priorities, taking ownership, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution, and communicating effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for continuously improving services, developing, and maintaining technical documentation, and providing customer training. As the IT representative for ETS services, you will engage daily with customers to resolve technical issues and deliver high-quality support and services.

  • Apply basic technical analytical skills.
  • Identify the scope and impact of customer issues.
  • Support DES systems and customer access.
  • Modify Microsoft Exchange objects (users, mailboxes, distribution lists, shared and individual calendars).
  • Control network and system access.
  • Modify access control list and electronic file permissions across multiple platforms.
  • Set up F5 SSL VPN.
  • Manage mobile devices.
  • Assist in implementing agency-wide hardware and OS refreshes, including testing, training, and customer support.
  • Maintain hardware and software.
  • Track the life cycle of IT assets.
  • Conduct user training.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, a candidate must possess one of the following required education and/or experience options:

 [Option 1]:

  • Three (3) years of information technology experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Active Directory management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing IT procedures and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem analysis and resolution with critical business applications.
  • Demonstrated experience securing network and file structures.

[Option 2]:

  • An Associate's degree, or equivalent two (2) years of vocational training in a technical field; AND
  • One (1) year of demonstrated experience in:
  • Hands on configuration on a complex environment, securing network resources and customizing applications/networks to meet the needs of customers.
  • Creating technical documentation and business requirements for projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Active Directory, policy, preferences.
  • Demonstrated experience with network and file share permissions.

[Option 3]:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical/business discipline; AND
  • Two (2) years of experience in configuring and installing network systems/customer applications.

In addition to the above required experience and/or education, a candidate must possess the following required qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience within the past four years implementing, maintaining, and supporting the latest two versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of computer components and architecture, including the functions of various components and peripherals (e.g. CPUs, network interface cards (NICs), data storage, multi-function print devices (MFPs)).
  • One (1) year of experience within the past four years supporting and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange.
  • Two (2) years of experience within the past four years directly supporting customers by translating technical issues into plain talk utilizing excellent verbal and written skills.

Desirable/Preferred Education, Experience or Certifications:

  • Ability to accurately consult, analyze, diagnose, and solve complex problems with multiple possible causes.
  • Ability to interface and build positive relationships with vendors to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing, technical problems, solutions and utilize plane talk to deliver information to non-technical staff and management.
  • Ability to use active listening skills to truly understand the customer's problem or request, using curious questions to ensure a complete understanding of the issue.
