Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Level 2 IT Support Technician to become part of our growing IT Operations Team. This role will primarily focus on providing 2nd Line support and IT Project resource to our US colleagues.

We are looking for an experienced and confident individual who will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and upgrading existing systems. Someone who is technically strong in Windows, Office, Office 365, Networking and Windows Server technologies and can assist with BAU Support, new implementations, migrations and project work.

Responsibilities

  • 2nd line IT support Windows OS, Skype, Microsoft Office, DCRM

  • Administration of Microsoft AD, ADAXES

  • Mobile Phone configuration and support using MDM (Airwatch / Mobile Iron / Intune)

  • Participation in incident, problem and change management adhering to ITIL best practices using ServiceNow

  • General PC / Server administration and maintenance including fault diagnostics and performance improvements

  • New implementations, migrations and upgrades

  • National Travel required up to approximately 25%; International travel (Mexico & Canada) also required

  • Valid U.S. Passport required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Computer related Degree / Diploma / Microsoft Certification or equivalent work experience

  • Significant server / desktop support experience

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work on own initiative

  • Understands the importance of documentation and on time delivery

  • Sound backup and system security practices

  • Experience leading roll-outs, migrations and upgrades

  • Very teamwork oriented

Experience within the following is required:

  • Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016, including DNS, DHCP & WINS

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Microsoft Windows 10, 7 and XP

  • Skype for Business

  • Microsoft Office 365 Migrations and Administration (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)

  • Microsoft Productivity Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional desirable skills:

  • VMware

  • IP Telephony Platforms (MITEL and Cisco)

  • Supporting and configuring mobile devices (Apple, Android and PDA)

  • Cloud based technologies (Azure / AWS)

  • Mimecast

  • Dynamics CRM

  • LIMS Experience

This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required. MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE The position is responsible for the resolution of all second line incident and service requests in the region. They will have a good understanding of networked computer technology and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. JOB DUTIES * Field complex computer related tier two questions via the service desk system. * Maintain computer record database. * Support local employees with computer problems in person. * Support remote employees with computer problems via remote desktop applications. * Assist manager with special projects involving computer replacements, office equipment upgrades, and basic server maintenance/backups. * Support and troubleshoot Windows computers in LAN and WAN networks. * Rebuild windows computers via SCCM imaging. * Support and troubleshoot Office 365 products including Outlook, One Drive, Excel, Skype for Business, and Word. * Troubleshoot application delivery and installation. * Support the setup of new offices, sites, and projects across the local region. * Maintain local equipment rooms, conference room facilities, etc. * Exhibit a flexible approach to working and provide coverage where necessary. * Provide training and guidance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or a minimum of 2 years of experience in IT service principles and processes. * High level of proficiency and knowledge of working in a Corporate IT environment preferred. * Solid understanding of hardware and software asset management processes. * Experience of working to (and exceeding) Service Level Agreements. * Broad technical understanding of technology services being supported. * Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. * Strong business focus and customer service skills. * Working knowledge of database/excel structures/tables/configurations. * Proven experience of data analysis and good numeracy, analytical and reporting skills. * Works across regional offices. SPECIAL SKILLS * Experience supporting a technical/engineering computing environment preferred. * Working knowledge of Service Now preferred. * Strong customer service skills both in person and over the phone. * Strong written language skills for email and service desk communications. * Self-motivated, organized, and reliable. PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS * Desk side support relevant certification from Microsoft preferred. * ITIL V3 Foundation Qualification preferred.
