What We Are Looking For

Prestage Farms is seeking a proactive and customer-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team. The IT Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing IT issues, playing a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our IT infrastructure and ensuring user satisfaction across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Operational IT Support

  • Provide timely and effective support for day to day IT related business problems, including but not limited to hardware, software, network, and other system related issues

User Support

  • Act as the primary contact for all IT support tickets submitted by employees
  • Asses, prioritize, and resolve issues directly or escalate to the appropriate technical teams when necessary

Ticket Management

  • Manage the IT support ticketing system, ensuring that all requests are accurately logged, prioritized according to their urgency and impact on business operations, and resolved in a timely manner

Issue Diagnosis and Resolution

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose IT issues, employing a systematic approach to problem-solving
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement effective solutions

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all IT issues, actions taken, and resolutions
  • Contribute to the IT knowledge base by creating user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting procedures to assist in resolving future issues more efficiently

Collaboration

  • Work closely with various departments to understand their IT needs, providing solutions that support and enhance business processes

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required, but some college education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
  • Relevant technical certifications and training are highly regarded
  • Proven experience in an IT support role with a strong understanding of IT operations, systems, and technologies
  • Familiarity with desktop and server operating systems, networking, and common office software
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and an understanding of ITIL principles is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in an easily understandable manner
  • A strong focus on customer service, with a patient and friendly approach to support and training users
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills as required by the evolving IT landscape
