Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Specialist to join the Team in Fairfield, NJ. The IT Support Specialist position will provide level 1 on-site technical support at a key facility in Fairfield, NJ. This position will work with both corporate and Legrand North and Central America (LNCA) IT teams and will require periodic, local travel to support nearby facilities.
What Will You Do?
Provide technical support for end users in person, via phone or remote access
Provide hands on technical support for shop floor equipment
Provide timely resolutions directly or via defined escalation process
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software on IT and shop floor (operational technology) equipment
Support general hardware / software technical issues and escalate as necessary
Image and enroll PCs according to corporate standards
Perform basic Microsoft Active Directory admin tasks (i.e. password resets)
Provide training to end-users on hardware and software
Responsible for new employee PC setup and onboarding
Manage Windows Security options, local vulnerabilities and serve as an onsite contact for cyber incident remediation
Purchase and provision IT supplies
Assist users with local data backups
Participate and contribute to IT audits
Work with third party vendors (proof of concepts, procurement, issue resolution)
Provide tech support for Internet of Things (IoT) devices used in the manufacturing process, ensure they are properly configured, connected, and maintained
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in Industry 4.0 processes and contribute to their implementation
Ensure Industry 4.0 systems adhere to cybersecurity standards and practices, and actively participate in securing data and processes against cyber threats
Stay up-to-date with industry standards related to Industry 4.0 and ensure the company's IT infrastructure complies with these standards
Provide "remote hands" service of local IT Infrastructure to global and regional level 2 and level 3 Infrastructure and Network Engineers, when necessary
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
Experience with Microsoft Windows and Active Directory administration, supporting and troubleshooting MS Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
Experience with configuring and maintaining Windows PCs and related accessories, and basic troubleshooting of wireless devices and networks
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, while managing multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Customer service orientation; strong interpersonal skills
Skilled at resolving problems
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Preferred, Not Required:
Experience with Microsoft Azure (AAD) Administration, MS Intune and ServiceNow
1-3 years related IT experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with SAP ERP, shop floor applications, label printers, scan guns, and manufacturing shop floor equipment (laser, punch, press)
Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR)
CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+) or equivalent certification
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Primary environment: Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Will also require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to heights up to 25 feet
Regularly required to communicate and collaborate with internal and external technical staff, manufacturing staff and business stakeholders
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Occasional travel to nearby Legrand locations
