The role

This job is a permanent full-time position in the Technology Department's Service Centre and is based in Amsterdam. It involves working in a helpdesk officer role, providing first and second-level user support (depending on services) as part of an IT team that, comprises a total of seven members.

Occasionally this person could provide training on IT applications to final users.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves the following key responsibilities:

  • Providing user equipment support, delivery and maintenance.

  • Acting as point of contact for all user queries relating to desktop PC's, laptops, smartphones, printers and business-related software.

  • Dealing with asset management tasks (i.e., in relation to desktops, laptops, printers and other peripheral devices).

  • Providing IT and audiovisual equipment support for on and off-site meetings and events.

  • Supplying business desktop software support and support in relation to document production issues.

  • Providing advice and assistance in relation to the use of secure remote access to office systems.

  • Recording incidents, problems, requests for assistance using a mandatory global incident management tool (currently Service Now).

  • Providing support in relation to mobile and fixed telephone peripherals.

  • Providing training on IT applications, if required.

  • Being fully integrated in an international environment as a member of a Continental Europe IT Team. Dedicating time and resources to this region initiatives.

  • Providing out-of-hours help desk support to users on a rotating basis (with other members of the Technology Department), either remotely or, when necessary, on site.

Qualifications

Your experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience gained in an international environment, ideally Legal or Professional Services Organisation;

  • Certification in process improvement (ITIL), Project management or Service Delivery is preferable;

  • Skilled and preferable certified in Microsoft O365 environments.

  • International orientation and mindset;

  • Excellent IT Support skills and a natural interest to learn how to work with new technologies;

  • Highly proficient in English, and Dutch is a plus;.

  • Flexible in approach and being able to respond to changing circumstances based on the preference of stakeholders and the unique demands of each situation;

  • Able to demonstrate willingness to adopt new working practices (to become a business advisor, not just break/fix).

  • Able to demonstrate Process Improvement approach and skills (Continuous Improvement capability).

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to deliver technical projects and/or new software to a varied userbase with different levels of IT skills;

  • Able to articulate and present new technologies to the office, to encourage greater adoption of applications.

  • Working within preliminary guidelines and GDPR regulations, to comply with security and compliance requirements.
