The IT & Support Manager oversees the daily IT operations, support services, and system maintenance for Virginia Tire & Auto. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems and Technology, this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the organizations' IT infrastructure, meeting internal SLAs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The IT & Support Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for vendor management and coordinates cross-functional IT projects. This position requires Virginia state residency, is primarily an on-site position with occasional remote work, and consists of a rotating on-call responsibility on Saturdays.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage and prioritize the resolution of the help desk support tickets, ensuring timely closure and adherence to internal SLAs.

  • Lead the development and implementation of IT systems and departmental processes to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruptions in case of emergency situations or data loss.

  • Oversee security systems and networks, implementing strategies to mitigate security risks and ensure data integrity.

  • Assess the need for new equipment and software, analyzing infrastructure performance and operational costs.

  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively with operations teams.

  • Manage external IT partners/vendors to ensure the timely delivery of projects and initiatives.

  • Document and track inventory and assets, including in-store communication technologies.

  • Provide exceptional service to staff members, managing the company help desk and delivering IT services efficiently.

  • Actively learn organizational systems and become an expert through self-teaching, reviewing documentation, and guided learning processes.

  • Perform other duties assigned.

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-level IT role, with a strong understanding of computer systems, security, network administration, and databases.

  • Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

  • Strong leadership abilities with good organizational and time management skills.

  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technologies and business needs.

  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
