Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:

CI-Tech Operations and Investment Services

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

  • Independently, or as a team leader, undertakes technically complex projects/studies for Criminal Investigation requiring coordination across functional lines Servicewide and overseas. Researches and deploys complex COTS software and integrates it into the CI network.

  • Provides guidance and assistance on the entire range of technical issues.

  • Plans, organizes, and/or leads corporate or large scale studies, project or team efforts including other subject matter specialists, involving highly technical computer network issues.

  • Identifies complex systemic network problems, provides solutions and/or procedures, or agreements to systemic changes when necessary.

  • Analyzes requests for changes and additions to the CI network to ensure efficiency and compatibility with current operating systems and network architecture.

  • Advises on various methods of improving network performance, securing the CI network, or networking software/hardware, and on current network technology and practices.

  • Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).

  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. These documents must be unexpired original or certified copies.

Employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements (e.g., reporting at least twice a pay period to your assigned Post of Duty (POD)) and supervisor's approval to participate in the IRS Telework Program. Employees must also be within a 200-mile radius of their official assigned post-of-duty (POD) while in a telework status. As a reminder

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-14:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must include Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates each of the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication and 4) Problem Solving. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience that demonstrates accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated through assignments that required the ability to analyze a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of IT system design. This would include defining what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.

At this level, your experience must be sufficient to demonstrate experience in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server and Active Directory, as well as IT technologies and strategies for IT network and system security.

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. Education

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.   • This is a non-bargaining unit position.

  • Tour of Duty: Monday-Friday, Day Shift, Start and Stop times between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

  • Alternative work schedule, staggered work hours or telework may be available.

  • In the event that a building is closed due to rent management, new hires may be placed in a local commuting location.

  • The employment of any candidate selected for this position, including a current employee or a new hire, selected for this position may be conditional upon classification and/or audit of federal tax returns. This audit may include up to 2 years of returns.
