Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT), Position Description Number D1650P01 and is part of the Pennsylvania National Guard, National Guard.

Responsibilities

As a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT), GS-2210-11, you will serve as a technical expert and focal point for the installation and configuration of hardware and software on personal computers and for personal data assistants associated with assigned systems. Serves as a systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting in order to meet customer needs.

Serves as a technical expert on multiple operating systems and computer platforms. Determines equipment and communications requirements and interfaces with other systems. Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends hardware/software changes to various computer systems.

Considers factors such as compatibility with standard systems, conversion or implementation costs, and impact on existing equipment. Develops guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), bulletins and flyers regarding the operation/use of assigned C4 systems, services, and activities. Implements systems software changes, operating system releases and maintains the operational status of systems.

Performs security management in accordance with National Guard Bureau (NGB) and Air National Guard (ANG) regulations and policies. Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: : Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least 36 months of experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization.

Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES: Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

--Knowledge of a variety of operating systems on desktops and servers. Some of the operating systems utilized involve a higher security level than that typically used in an office automation environment. These involve multiple levels of security with multiple authentication levels.

--Knowledge of and skill in operating a wide variety of encryption hardware and software along with the ability to integrate these items into the local communications backbone.

--Knowledge and skill in managing a variety of classified communications and computer hardware and software in support of an intelligence unit.

--Knowledge of project management techniques and tools sufficient to provide expert guidance on the implementation of emerging technologies.

--Knowledge of the principles and methods used for planning and managing the implementation, update, and integration of information system components.

--Skill in troubleshooting problems and implementing changes on multifaceted and interdependent computer platforms.

--Knowledge of, and skill in applying system design techniques and hardware capabilities to analyze requests for new and modified applications.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying.

State-licensed and FDA-registered, CAPS pharmacies deliver solutions from more locations than any other national compounder. CAPS provides both custom and standard solutions to hospital and outpatient providers from our 25 locations across the United States. Making over 300,000 local deliveries annually, CAPS pharmacies operate 365 days a year to dispense labeled, patient-specific and anticipatory IV prescriptions to our health system pharmacy customers. CAPS believes safety is job one. Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive and continuous quality assurance program in the industry. We perform environmental monitoring, regular process validations, and daily process sterility testing as part of our routine Continuous Quality Assessment and Improvement Program. The CAPS service is focused on the daily admixing, dispensing, and delivery of a variety of CSPs. CAPS uniquely trained and licensed pharmacy personnel compound a broad range of patient and non-patient specific CSPs embracing the latest compounding technology, including proprietary software for ordering prescriptions and barcode safety checks for automated and manual compounding processes. CAPS ordering system can also interface with your pharmacy management software for convenience and broader custom service options. Pharmacists review orders upon receipt and prepare your order using an automated compounding process and a bar coded manual-add-system (MAS) to verify ingredient accuracy. CAPS mixes to order so you can be assured your order is freshly compounded and has maximum beyond use dating (BUD) when delivered. Responsibilities Position Summary: This position is intended to help perform field work related to facility and equipment issues at all CAPS pharmacies. Performing this function increases the effectiveness of the department by ensuring that the pharmacies remain in physical compliance to requirements and that any required work is done sooner.
