The IT Specialist will provide maintenance and operational support for any physical/virtual servers (i.e., virtual servers compatible with Government-owned virtual environments).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Program manager and predefined Government personnel to assist customers to resolve issues

  • Manage and Maintain print server environments.

  • Take responsibility for customer satisfaction by providing timely and courteous service with minimal support from other personnel. Observe all service call procedures including preliminary notification to the customer of call receipt with an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) whenever possible.

  • Plan, organize and schedule workflows, install and configure contractor furnished equipment, create, analyze, report, convert or transfer data, using specialized applications program software, provide for the installation, configuration, deployment and support of contractor furnished equipment and supporting systems, including but not limited to client computing devices, printers, MFDs and servers

  • Coordinate network and data security, including directory, group policy, firewalls, antivirus, etc.,

  • Keep service management informed of potential customer issues if unable to resolve.

  • Participate as a full member of a service workgroup and contribute to the group's productivity.

  • Demonstrate the required product proficiency by successfully completing the product training.

  • Accurately report all activities and time using the prescribed methodology to ensure accurate customer records and internal records.

  • Manage assigned parts, tools and any other assets provided.

  • Communicate with customers the status of their current service call and address any other service concerns they may have with the product.

  • Provide timely and courteous customer service to facilitate customer satisfaction.

  • Meet and/or exceed all required standards, such as Customer Notifications (ETA), Response Time, Product Repair Hours, Parts Cost, First Time Fix, and Call-Backs.

Minimum Qualifications:
(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Associate Degree in IT related field

  • 2 years' experience managing print servers

  • Experience with Nuance, Cleo-stream and CenterWeb applications is a plus.

  • A deskside certification required

  • CHAMP certification, MCSA or MCSE for Server 2012 (or above and vendor specific products), required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Print Server Management

  • PC skills are required for this position. Skill demonstration required in IE Navigation, File saves and moves, Internet connectivity.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems Windows and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel). The position also requires using the PC/wireless devices for data entry, troubleshooting, and web access.

  • Ability to successfully pass a drug-screening, DMV and background check.

  • Ability to provide reliable transportation to service calls.

  • Proven excellent customer service skills.

We are looking for an IT Specialist to support a major shipbuilding Program Executive Office located at the historic Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC . Security Clearance: * Applicant must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance Responsibilities: You will be seated at the WNY embedded with the Government's IT staff and you will report to the Activity Chief Information Officer (ACIO) and the contract IT Task Lead. As an IT Specialist, you will provide information technology (IT), wireless (WL), and multimedia (MM) support to the Activity by maintaining the readiness of the Activity's IT, WL and MM assets, resources, and capabilities. Specific duties include: * Act as the ACIO's liasion and action officer with NMCI-NGEN, NAVSEA and other applicable commands in regards to all IT, WL and MM requirements. Identify, troubleshoot, escalate and resolve IT network resource issues, including system outages, software distribution, restricted access, and system upgrades * Provide tiered IT help desk support to Activity end-users; IT network resource management support; tiered WL help desk support to Activity end-users; and MM scheduling, engineering and maintenance support.
