This Position is located in the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, Industrial Security directorate.
As an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) you will be responsible for the following duties:
Serve as an Information Systems Security Professional (ISSP) within the Southern Region.
Perform Cybersecurity activities including security control assessments in support of Information Technology (IT) systems.
Assess and authorize activity utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Exercise security oversight of cleared contractor information systems within the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
Analyze, assess, evaluate, verify and validate cleared contractor information system security plans and controls, and deliver system authorization risk recommendations to the Authorizing Official.
Develop and maintain security documentation and artifacts for Information Systems assigned
Engage and interface with industry security professionals to assess implemented security controls.
Enforce IT security control requirements, recommend configurations for information systems and networks and identify strategies to manage risk through mitigation of IT vulnerabilities, considering the rapidly evolving Cybersecurity threat to IT systems.
Serve as spokesperson at conferences and training meetings to convey NISP and RMF implementation guidance and Cybersecurity information relating to industrial security.

It is a requirement to be certified within six months of the appointment date (if not already certified) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M for IAM Level III and IAT Level II.

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience required for this position is:
Senior level knowledge of advanced information technology (IT) principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices relating to information systems security in order to function as the technical authority for information systems security issues, as well as, extensive knowledge of common computer operating systems, networking fundamentals and architecture, and network security devices.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
Cybersecurity: Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance).
Risk Management Framework (RMF): Unified Information security framework for the entire federal government.
