This position is located in Office of the Assistant Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO), Transition Management (TM) for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA). Duties

  • Leads development teams to determine the final technical specifications required to meet the functional requirements.

  • Manages, reviews, creates, maintains, tests and utilize use-case models for business or clinical health care information. This could include process modeling and object modeling.

  • Manages the creation of and reviews of technical documentation such as data migration plans, schedules, and user and technical manuals.

  • Tracks, analyzes and coordinates multiple, complex application integration workstreams using principles and guidelines of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Capability Maturity Model(R) Integration (CMMI) methodologies.

  • Facilitating cross-functional and cross-team planning sessions to ensure integration of critical path integration activities.

  • Leads complex technical sessions to coordinate cross-functional or enterprise-wide integration efforts.

  • Assists in providing technical support to the various teams involved in integration of OEHRM software solutions.

  • Provides technical support to customers who need assistance utilizing client-level hardware and software in accordance with established or approved organizational process components.

  • Leads development of information systems testing strategies, plans, or scenarios working with project stakeholders, including Test and Software Quality Assurance Services representatives.

  • Acts as a national resource person for the specifically assigned project and attends national meetings, conferences, etc., both within and outside the VA, to gather and to disseminate information about the products' development and integration processes.

  • Spokesperson for specific assigned applications and workstream groups and is expected to have extensive business and technical knowledge of the task(s) assigned.

  • Presents authoritative technical advice to management on the application of business or clinical process modeling, business or clinical object modeling and business or clinical task design activities.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.

Experience

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.

Specialized Experience: GS-14. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-13 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as 1.) Leading and performing analytical analysis of current and future state IT solutions to enable the integration and configuration of the EHR. (2.) Ensuring adherence to IT processes, change and configuration management processes, integration resource allocation and schedule commitments. (3.) Presenting authoritative technical advice to management on the application of business or clinical process modeling, business or clinical object modeling and business or clinical task design activities.
