IT Specialist

Key Role:

Conduct individual and group training sessions, demonstrate how to use computer programs, and analyze and evaluate training program outlines, training manuals, instructions, reference manuals, and other materials. Provide training on computerized applications, support older technology during transition phases, and test new equipment, software, and technologies for replacement. Monitor and distribute help desk calls and assist with report programming. Analyze the development of high-level system design diagrams, program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, conduct quality assurance reviews, and evaluate existing and new software products. Install, operate, configure, diagnose, and repair computers, software, and peripheral equipment, monitor the activity and components of data communications networks, and identify software and hardware malfunctions. Determine user needs and problems, comprehend program requirements, develop effective solutions, and prepare documentation materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience as an IT specialist

  • Knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment, including operating systems, basic operation functions, system and memory configurations, and software

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • BA or BS degree

  • DoD 8140 or 8570 IAT Level II Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent organizational skills, including strict attention to detail

  • BA or BS degree in Information Systems, CS, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Camp Community College is currently recruiting for a Nursing Faculty Enhancement Specialist to teach up to 15 credit hours in remediation, clinical, and skills lab in the Associate Degree and Practical Nursing programs. Teaching load will require the candidate to travel to and work at both the Franklin and Suffolk Campuses. You must have a high level of energy, creativity, and motivation to design and implement effective teaching and learning practices. Facilitate student learning through in-class and out-of-class activities. Engage students during office hours, tutoring, remediation/NCLEX preparation, and mentoring activities. Devote appropriate time weekly to remediation/NCLEX preparation, lab skills instruction, and lab preparation. The candidate must document student remediation and NCLEX preparation performance. Utilize Blackboard to augment classes. Work with the faculty to plan, implement, assess and revise curriculum. Serve as an academic advisor for the pre-nursing and allied health students. Actively contribute to the institution through participation in program and division meetings, and service on college governance and other committees. Collaborate with faculty, staff and students in a diverse and collegiate organizational culture with high standards for performance. Remain current in Nursing practice, Nursing education, and trends in community college education through professional development, further education, and/or scholarship. Provide leadership and communicate standards, goals, and definitions of learning outcomes and teaching requirements for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Virginia Board of Nursing, and other accrediting bodies to ensure consistent delivery of quality instruction. Adhere to the policies of Paul D. Camp Community College, the Virginia Community College System, the Virginia Board of Nursing and ACEN. Faculty will be providing educational instruction for students in the classroom, clinical, and lab setting, while meeting specific learning needs, dependent upon the students' educational semester. The faculty will be responsible for assisting with the lab and skills settings, and provide modules and orientation related to the assigned clinical facility. The faculty must ensure a positive, professional representation of the nursing profession and college at all times, while maintaining a supportive role for the students. All clinical duties as assigned. Simulation and lab maintenance. Minimum Qualifications The Nursing Faculty Enhancement Specialist is required to hold a BSN and have an unrestricted license in the State of VA or multi-state privilege. The candidate must have 3 years of clinical nursing experience and 3 years experience in nursing education, teaching, and/or preceptorship experience. The candidate is required to work on both the Suffolk and Franklin campuses and assist with academic advising for the pre-nursing and allied health students. They are required to assist in a variety of clinical settings including Medical/Surgical. Preferred Qualifications Recent Acute Care Experience. Three years experience in Nursing Education in LPN or RN program. Knowledge of Simulation. Master of Science in Nursing.
