Washington State Ferries (WSF) has a fantastic opportunity for an IT professional with notable programming experience to provide support for nearly 1500 employees and contractors involved in selling/redeeming tickets and reservations at 19 terminals throughout the ferry system. The success of your actions will greatly impact the ability of WSF to efficiently and effectively serve the great communities of the Puget Sound and beyond.
The ferry system is represented by a fabulous IT Department that supports the largest ferry system in the United States. Serving eight counties within Washington and the Province of British Columbia in Canada the system has 10 routes and 20 terminals that are served by 22 vessels and approximately 1,800 amazing employees.

This position will perform the following work:
Trouble shoot/maintain the software/hardware related to Vehicle Reservation System, Wave2Go, and all related systems.
Plan independently and lead team members in conducting needs assessments, requirement analysis, and evaluation of software modules for various projects.
Lead application development and enhancement projects for complex divisional or multifunctional applications.
Serve as project manager for various projects and oversee implementation.
Collaborate in design of physical databases.
Analyze and document hardware and software performance.
Consult various stakeholders/clients of capabilities and limitation of software applications.
Develop and implement quality assurance testing utilizing form QA practices and techniques.
Serve as SME assisting Help Desk team members resolve issues related to the Vehicle Reservations and Wave2Go application suite.
Develop related training material and provide training to all related stakeholders.
Attend various meeting representing the interests of team.
Other duties as assigned.
An ideal candidate will have the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or experience.
3 years' experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving software and hardware issues.
3 years' experience in developing web applications in an N-Tier architecture.
Experience in working with compressive relational data models.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
