Genesis10 is seeking an IT Smart Grid Communications RF and Data Analyst. This is for a long-term Contract opportunity with our client in the Utilities Industry. The position will be located downtown Dallas, TX.

W2 Status: Only W2 candidates will be considered for this position.

Description:
The IT Smart Grid Communications RF and Data Analyst will be responsible for generating, compiling, dispersing, and analyzing the Smart Grid system performance data associated with various communications networks such as the Gridstream RF Mesh, Distribution Automation, Point-To-Point Microwave, DWDM, SONET, and others. This individual will need to have a basic understanding of Data Management policies and processes. This individual will work closely with stakeholders and 3rd party service providers to define identify and obtain essential data needed to assess and improve network health and performance and provide recommendations for optimization to comply with company metrics. This position will require the ability to read and understand data models and have the knowledge to verify the impact of network upgrades and infrastructure issues. This individual will develop a reporting tool to provide alerts and triggers for additional analysis in addition to reports to trend historical
performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with IT Smart Grid Communications architecture, policies and processes

  • Aggregate reports to serve as an overall network health report and identify correlations between independent issues

  • Generate reports on an as needed basis

  • Perform data analysis

  • Interact with clients, peers, vendors and service providers

  • Apply critical thinking skills in order to develop custom and cost-efficient solutions

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of RF Mesh Networks and associated infrastructure

  • Extensive knowledge of products/technologies such as Oracle databases, SQL, programming languages (C, C++, Visual Basic, HTML, JAVA), Microsoft Project, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint, MS Access, Google Earth and Tableau

  • Preferred knowledge of MapPoint and WIMS/AEGIS

  • Preferred experience with customer information systems, meter management systems, distribution/transmission information systems, and other applications used in the utility industry

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or two to four years of experience as a data analyst with knowledge of the electric utility industry and RF/Telecom experience

The candidate will become a member of an integrated product team, inclusive of design, process, and test. Additionally, the position requires (1) monitoring of manufacturing and test data on a daily basis to identify defect trends and working with process and manufacturing engineering to resolve any issues identified, (2) implementing needed electrical design changes, verifying performance of modified circuits, and updating corresponding electrical requirements and specifications The position provides growth opportunities, including customer and supplier interaction and the opportunity to transition to future module design roles. Required Skills: * Minimum of four years of professional Electrical Engineering experience, including at least two years of directly applicable experience with RF and microwave products. * Demonstrated experience in RF test methods, systems, and equipment with experience in the application of statistics to data to formulate decisions on behalf of the team * Experience in the authoring of requirements and verification documentation, inclusive of test plans and procedures * Knowledge of production and assembly of RF/Microwave modules * U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. * U.S. Citizenship and ability to access US only data systems.
