This position is responsible for collaborating across IT to implement Louisiana Pacific's Information Security program. The primary goal of the program is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources while aligning to business goals and objectives. This position will serve as the IT security subject matter expert for security tasks and projects within technology and operations teams at Louisiana Pacific.
Assist in the rollout and implementation of IT Security related processes, methods, and tools.
Plan and execute IT Security audits and reviews of IT processes, IT related projects, IT systems and IT service providers.
Recognize and identify potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future expansion I
Develop defense strategies to remediate / mitigate identified IT security related risks.
Consult users, project leads, managers and others regarding IT Security related issues and answers questions as appropriate.
Communicates new and changed instructions of Information Security and IT security rules.
Provide IT Security awareness training and communications.
Assists in the development, implementation and enforcement of corporate-wide security policies, procedures and standards.
Assists in consulting with the business and operational infrastructure personnel regarding new and existing technologies and appropriate security architectures, practices and procedures.
Works with various IT groups to define the computer security architecture, technical standards and procedures and participate in negotiations for IT security tools, products and services
Identify and evaluate new and emerging technologies & products to be introduced to improve protections
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of infrastructure and networking design, vendors and offerings.
Advanced knowledge of IT security concepts and best practice.
Research and troubleshooting skills.
Strong negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Specialized relevant security certifications (CISSP or SANS)
Seven (7) or more years of IT security experience.
Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, testing and managing a wide range of IT security protocols.
Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technology.
Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
