A Day in the Life

This is an interesting role involving both hands-on-nitty-gritty systems engineering and consultative customer-focused finesse. We are seeking a strong technical resource who has a background in systems and network engineering and an inherent ability to communicate and develop lasting relationships with clients. This role works to deliver projects and provide consultative services through the lens of Security, Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management.

Technical Aptitude

  • Familiarity and experience with Microsoft 365 and/or Azure

  • Familiarity with Security Frameworks (FedRAMP, ISO, NIST, COBIT, HIPAA/HITECH, PCI, etc.) and regulatory requirements

  • Define and deliver framework and methodology around security program and services with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer security and compliance requirements, preparing security risk assessments and strategy, and delivering custom solution engagements

  • Establishes, develops and grows information security, risk and compliance operational security architecture and security policies, principles and standards

  • Performs control and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of existing controls

  • Serves as the subject matter expert on all security documentation matters and consistently deliver the highest quality advisory services

  • Effectively lead IT projects, managing scope, schedule and budget with the objective of delivering quality work products

  • Be able to think through various technology solutions options as it relates to complex business problems and provide recommendations to team lead and/or client.

  • Working knowledge of leading application and integration architecture frameworks

  • Participate in client discovery meetings, and be able to clearly articulate scope, approach and level of effort for the proposal

  • Troubleshoot and debug basic system and network issues

  • Coach and mentor team members

  • Work as a consultant with our clients nationwide

  • Identify ways to improve our clients' systems and infrastructure (upgrades to hardware, software, and network

  • Ability to plan and execute projects with minimal oversight

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems, engineering, or relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Candidate must have one of the following or be willing to obtain within 6 months of employment: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CRISC, CCNA, CEH

VIEW JOBS 7/10/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-10-08T00:00 Senior Security Consultant (Akamai Technologies, Inc.; Denver, Colorado): The Senior Security Consultant (SSC) will lead the integration of customers' web sites with the Akamai platform. The SSC must have a full understanding of development methodologies, consulting best practices, and common web and application architectures. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent client and project management skills, proven ability to perform hands on technical work when needed, and ability to lead projects and global teams. Responsibilities include: working independently or lead small technical teams with Akamai's customers to evaluate their web architecture and deliver the appropriate integration solution. This includes, but is not limited to, evaluating the customer's' content management and publishing processes, web application architecture, security requirements, DNS configurations, and provide detailed documentation for a custom solution that satisfies the customer's' business and technical requirements; working closely with customers and pre-sales teams to manage and implement customer trials, propose technically feasible solutions and set accurate expectations on effort and timelines for integration; establishing success criteria and act as the single point of contact for the customer for all technical issues and project deliverables; creating proposals, Statements of Work and detailed project plans for customer integrations including timelines and effort estimates; working closely with Account Management, Sales professionals, engineering, product development and Customer Care to resolve issues that arise during customer trials or integrations; identifying new product features and additional sales opportunities during trials and integrations and communication of the same to product development and sales teams; tracking and documenting status and time spent on customer integrations; participating in internal projects that help scale the group, implement best practices, and improving our methodology and quality of integrations; and reviewing quality of customer integrations. The SSC will be required to travel domestically to support customers' offices when necessary, approximately 25% of the time. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity Management, or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity Management, or related field plus 8 years of relevant experience. MUST HAVE: The total number of required years of experience above must include the following (can be gained concurrently): 6 years of experience in a customer-facing environment in the information technology industry; 6 years of project management experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects for Fortune 500 customers; 6 years of experience working on and managing enterprise scale projects; 6 years of experience in one or more web development languages, methodologies, or architectures (such as: J2EE, HTTP, DNS, .NET, C#, JSP, ASP, Tomcat, Apache). Must also have (no specific number of years of experience required, only the ability stated): Implementation experience with web delivery technologies; demonstrated knowledge of Internet technologies and considered a subject matter expert in any relevant internet topic; experience delivering internet technologies within B2B or B2C - shopping cart, user personalization, and dynamic database architectures; and prior experience in a customer facing role requiring a high level of individual responsibility, sound business judgment and large enterprise account management, where an aptitude for improving customer satisfaction was successfully demonstrated.
