POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Security Analyst, under the direction of the IT Security Manager, will assist with the execution of IT security standards, best practices, architecture, and systems to ensure IT security across the enterprise. This position requires independent judgment with respect to complex systems and security issues that impact SOS-wide operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of, Security Appliances, and security related software and hardware, along with security incident resolution.

  • Installs, and maintenance of LAN/WAN hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as specific IT software, NextGen firewalls, wireless equipment, cameras, routers, switches, low voltage cabling, Internet connectivity, and other networking related technologies.

  • Performs network functions to include assessing and resolving problems arising from security, network hardware, network software, and workstation network connectivity.

  • Participates in disaster recovery procedures, and ongoing network management using diagnostic tools.

  • Utilizes and reviews key baseline statistics for network monitoring.

  • Analyzes network performance on a routine basis, identifying any potential problem areas.

  • Resolves problems in an expeditious manner and makes recommendations for other changes as appropriate.

  • Provides limited workstation support on various system needs such as Microsoft operating systems, network connectivity, PC hardware, business application software, Microsoft Office products, and telephony equipment.

  • Provides user support, training, and technical assistance to entire organization.

  • Interfaces and performs daily tasks assisting the IT Security Manager with the administration of managed security services.

  • Direct involvement in Risk Based Assessments on proposed projects with regular tabletop and full disaster recovery exercises.

  • As required, install, and configure new hardware and software.

  • Maintain logs related to network security operations as well as maintenance, change and repair records.

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

  • Review system security plans implemented throughout the entire network of the Organization and uphold the responsibilities of an information security professional.

  • Perform vulnerability scanning on systems regularly and report gaps.

  • Assist with facilitation and promotion of activities to create information security awareness within the organization, including matters of strict confidence. Includes preparation of complex computer spreadsheets.

  • Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures, referring problems to the appropriate department manager. Monitor the internal control systems to ensure that appropriate access levels are maintained.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS: N/A

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

AS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. (2) years of securities networking related experience.

The two (2) years of supporting security networking environment cannot be substituted by formal education alone. Must have proven production experience with Microsoft Active Directory Management, Incident Response, pen-testing, endpoint management, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Licenses and Certifications:

CCNP/CCIE certifications are highly desirable. NGFW certifications/training are also a plus.

Valid Class C Georgia Driver's License and satisfactory motor vehicle record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of host hardening, auditing, logging, and monitoring, network security, security analytics, anomaly detections, etc.

Information security certifications (e.g. Sec+, CISSP, etc.) preferred.

In-depth knowledge of routing protocols and network designed highly desirable. CCNP certification (or equivalent).

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related field Or Associate's degree and three years of related experience Or Four years of related experience
