IT Security Administrator

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Serves as the senior security expert in the IT security team in the planning, developing implementing security architectures and solutions

• Designs, implements, and supports integration of information security solutions including Intrusion Prevention systems, firewalls, Intrusion Detection systems, Authentication systems ad Security Incident & Event Management systems and developing and coordinating security implementation plans

• Evaluates and recommends procedures and processes for the prevention, detection, containment, and correction of information security breaches

• Leads security management services, forensic analysis, cyber-crime investigation, incident response and investigation to resolution

• Provides technical lead on security projects which involve a wide range of issues including secure architectures, secure electronic data traffic, network security, platform and data security and privacy

• Works with IT manager to determine acceptable levels of risk for enterprise computing platforms and to discuss security implications of new information technology uses being considered

• First point of contact with internal and external auditors for the assessment, control verification, and remediation of vulnerabilities.

• Reviews, monitors, and guides the IT team in the systems patching and firmware maintenance strategy

• Works and collaborates with local and federal agencies in the prevention, detection and containment of threats and cyber- criminal activities

• Evaluates logical access requests and grants it according to policies

• Works and assists the Network Administrator in the evaluation, configuration and troubleshooting of network devices

• Leads the security awareness program and monitors user progress and compliance

• Performs related tasks as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and five (5) years of related work experience

• Or equivalent combination of education and experience:

• Preferred Comp TIA Security +, CySA +, or equivalent

• Preferred CISCO CCNA certification

• Preferred Sophos Certified Engineer and Architect - Endpoint Protection

• Preferred Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate
