A Typical day includes:

  • Responding to computer incidents according to the computer security incident response policy and providing timely and relevant updates to appropriate partners and decision makers.

  • Providing investigation findings to relevant business units as directed to help improve information security posture and compile data for management reporting and metrics.

  • Monitor information security related websites to stay up to date on current attacks and trends. Analyze potential impact of new threats and communicates risks IT Security staff and business units as directed.

  • Administer system access requests. Identify, possible security exceptions and facilitates resolution when possible.

  • Carry out security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviews security violation reports.

  • Administer user system and data entitlements, authorizations, access rights, account creation and modifications across platforms and applications.

  • Work with IT Service Center for problem resolution. Collaborate with counterparts and managed service providers for non-owned platforms.

  • Review periodic reports from system security monitoring applications.

  • Look for and flags anomalous patterns in system activities.

  • Raise findings to higher level info security authorities for further analysis.

  • Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures.

  • Contribute to information reported to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information and systems.

  • Facilitate response to computer security incidents according to the computer security incident response policy. Coordinate efforts among multiple business units during response efforts. Provides timely and relevant updates to appropriate partners and decision makers.

  • Maintain and review incident response plans and processes to address potential threats. Provide input and recommendations for improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in relevant fields

  • Knowledge of CSAA IG security policies, process and procedures.

  • Knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques Knowledge of applicable technology in use by CSAA such as Active Directory, LDAP, Tivoli Access Manager, Unix (various), and custom web applications.

  • Able to work with a changing schedule that includes standard or non-standard business hours of work.

  • Familiarity and ability to use the work ticket system, access management tools Knowledge of Active Directory administration and security monitoring tools.

  • Formal training, course work or work experience in one of the following two areas A) Access management B) Cyber threat intrusion prevention and detection

Preferred Qualifications

  • GIAC or ISC2 certification

  • Prior work experience in one of the following two areas A) Access management B) Cyber threat intrusion prevention and detection

  • GCIH certification

  • Insurance industry experience
