Overview
The IT Resiliency Analyst reports to the Associate Director for IT Resiliency and works with cross-functional teams to ensure the resilience, continuity, and recovery of OIT and departmental IT infrastructure and services. Responsibilities include IT resilience planning, testing, and validation in a collaborative manner for IT disaster recovery preparedness, including recovery point and time objectives for all major IT services. The analyst will conduct training and awareness programs on IT resilience practices.
The Analyst will assist during an IT Infrastructure failure to coordinate response efforts and will provide expertise to aid colleagues in executing business continuity and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and maintain critical IT services. The Analyst also participates in after incident reviews both internally within OIT and with campus partners.
Responsibilities
Participates in the design, implementation, and continuous improvements of IT resiliency plans and processes for the University, working closely with the Information Security Office and University Emergency Management Group
Works closely with the Information Security Office, staff in OIT, the University Emergency Management Group, and with campus partners to mitigate identified risks in critical IT systems
Designs and executes regular tests and drills to assess the effectiveness of IT resilience, adjusting as necessary to ensure services can be recovered in a timely manner
Maintains accurate documentation for IT resilience plans, including recovery procedures, contact information, and system configurations
Collaborates with technology vendors and service providers to ensure their services align with Princeton's IT resiliency objectives
Ensures IT resiliency plans meet recovery point and recovery time objectives for services
Conducts training and awareness programs for IT staff on IT resilience and business continuity practices
Ensure compliance with asset, change, incident, and problem management processes and policies
Maintain significant familiarity and experience with IT infrastructure services and systems, including networking, virtualization, data centers, application development, databases, and cloud services
Maintain knowledge in emergency response operations and incident management, such as the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)
Provides support and expertise during IT disasters
Utilize ServiceNow and monitoring systems to generate reports and metrics on system resilience and recovery capabilities on a regular basis
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments, including at least 3 years in IT resiliency, designing and developing disaster response, recovery, and business continuance services
Experience assessing and implementing improvements to existing IT disaster plans requiring changes to existing processes
Aptitude for learning and sharing knowledge, including an interest in working with colleagues to solve challenging problems
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to respond promptly and professionally to customer requests
Demonstrated successes working in a collaborative environment as well as independently
Ability to learn new technologies beyond core area of knowledge
Proactive approach to seeking information and ideas from peers, supervisors, and members of the Princeton community
Ability to develop ideas and strategies to communicate with a diverse user base having various levels of technical proficiency
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in conducting risk assessments, business impact analysis, and gap analysis
Understanding of IT resiliency frameworks, methodologies, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ITIL)
Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
